2019 St. Philip Talent Show Sign Up is now available
Planning for the 2019 St. Philip Talent Show is now underway. This much loved St. Philip tradition invites students to share a personal talent or get together with friends to create a song/dance number to perform.
This year’s talent show will be run with a few important changes to streamline the process.
1. All sign up will be handled online via google forms. Each group member must sign up individually online. Please sign up here: Signup Link
2. All practice schedule information and reminders will be shared by email with parents.
3. Practice commitment will be at most once per week during lunch hour in the weeks leading up to the talent show on May 31st. Practices to be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch.
4. The “dress rehearsal” will coincide with the in school performance for students and staff on Thursday May 30th in the afternoon.
5. Sign up and “show ready” deadlines will be strictly enforced.
6. Depending on sign up numbers, the talent show may be divided into acts with a short intermission to ensure parents can pop in/out for their child’s performance.
Talent Show Details
⦁ Group numbers are strongly encouraged. Find some friends and start practicing!
⦁ All acts must be 2 minutes in length.
⦁ Please use Audacity or equivalent program to “cut” or “trim” your music to suit your act and send in MP3 format to juliarobertson2020@gmail.com.
⦁ If you are a singing act, please ensure your music is instrumental (with no words) so that we hear your beautiful voice!
⦁ Simple costumes are encouraged, but not mandatory.
⦁ In the event that groups choose the same song, we will encourage groups to choose another song or work together.
⦁ Please note that there is a limit of 1 act per person. If your school team (dance team, etc.) or class is doing a performance, you are still permitted to do a personal performance.
Schedule
If you have any questions or if you would like to help with this year’s show, please contact juliarobertson2020@gmail.com. (Parents/grandparents and grade six helpers are especially needed to help with lunch time practices. Vulnerable Sector Check must be on file with the school)
